It's Wednesday, March 11th. Good morning. Happy hump day. Two degrees right now in Brantford, 2 in Hamilton, 0 in Kitchener. Gas up another two cents, $1.57 a liter. I'm Stacey Englehart. A flood warning message, according to the Grand River Conservation Authority, now it's already affecting areas in Brant County, Brantford and Haldimand County. And now new warnings have been issued for areas near Cambridge and Six Nations of the Grand River. While it is going to be a wet, soggy day today, Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for a large portion of southern Ontario. Upwards of 40 millimeters expected. Areas affected include Brantford, Waterloo Region, and Hamilton. Now, the areas will have a tough time to absorb the water because the ground is still frozen. You're being asked to avoid driving on flooded roadways and watch for washouts near rivers, creeks, and culverts. Another government defection could soon give the Prime Minister the majority he was looking for. Nunavut MP Lori Idlout crossed the floor to join the Liberals. So Carney's government needs just two seats for a majority. There are three by-elections scheduled for next month. Loblaws has been hacked. The parent company of Shoppers Drug Mart and Loblaws said it determined that a criminal third party accessed some customer information. Now that included names, numbers, and e-mail addresses, the company said data related to health information, credit cards, and passwords were not compromised. And Wyarton Willie is now digging burrows past the pearly gates. The town of South Bruce Peninsula said the famous prognosticating rodent died peacefully in his sleep. Willie had been replaced a few other times before. The town said it will now begin the search for a new prognosticator. Sports NHL last night, Leafs have now lost age. in a row yesterday to Montreal 3-1. Elsewhere, Edmonton beat Colorado. Calgary lost to the Rangers. The Leafs host Anaheim tomorrow at 7. The wrap Doctors lost to Houston 113.99. They're in New Orleans tonight at 8. Baseball preseason, Blue Jays blank the Braves 7-0. They play the Yankees tonight, 6.30. At the World Baseball Classic yesterday, Canada edged Puerto Rico 3-2 and plays Cuba today at 3. Weather, we're under a rainfall warning. So we've got showers off and on, thunderstorms, windy 16 this afternoon. Tonight, looks like rain, possibly changing into flurries. Windy, a low of minus 3, feeling minus 2.
