Hurricane Melissa is now barreling toward Cuba-- expected to make landfall as a Category 3 storm, early this morning after pummeling Jamaica.
Jamaica has declared the entire island a disaster area.
More than half a million customers were without power, although airports are now back open
 Over 700-thousand people were evacuated in Cuba, with a hurricane watch is also in effect for Bermuda.
Cuba's severe economic crisis, has already led to prolonged power blackouts, fuel shortages and food shortages.
Hurricane Melissa is one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes on record 
The Hurricane meanwhile, is expected to influence the weather in Ontario this week.
A low-pressure system, will draw in tropical moisture from Melissa, bringing strong winds and rain to the Martimes, Quebec and Eastern Canada as well.
Canada Post has apparently laid off dozens of managers in an ongoing labour dispute with employees.
Canada Post confirmed the layoffs are part of corporate wide restructuring.
Late last month, Government Transformation Minister Joel Lightbound announced major changes to Canada Post to address the challenges facing the corporation.
The government also asked Canada Post to reduce its management and overhead costs by at least 15%.
In response, the union —announced an immediate nationwide strike, but they've shifted to rotating strikes.
Ontario's government plans to fast-track three bills, including one ending the province's speed camera program, while limiting debate and public input. 
House Leader Steve Clark proposes stopping debate after second reading, skipping the committee stage, and restricting final reading discussion. 
Premier Doug Ford calls speed cameras a "cash grab".
Opposition leaders say the bills deserve public scrutiny and note the government has repeatedly bypassed normal legislative processes. 
Brantford and Six Nations Police, will receive, tax dollars to help with their Mobile crisis response teams over 200 thousand dollars over two years.
According to the Expositor, The funding will help police work with trained crisis workers to provide specialized support when dealing with people experiencing a mental health crisis.

Peel Regional Police have arrested a 39-year-old Toronto Security guard, accused of child luring and sex assault against a minor.
He is described as 6-foot-2, with short black hair and dark brown eyes, Police believe there may be additional victims.
A man from Kitchener has been arrested after counterfeit 100-dollar bills were passed at a Guelph bar earlier this month.
Police say the man attempted several times to use the bills and would act surprised when told they were fake.
A 28-year-old man is charged with possessing counterfeit money and using counterfeit money. 
Some first-time homebuyers in Ontario could soon save tens of thousands of dollars on the cost of a home under a proposal from the provincial government to rebate the H-S-T.
The Ontario government had previously said,  if the federal government removed its portion of the harmonized sales tax for first-time homebuyers, the province would follow suit.

Canada's central bank lowered its benchmark interest rate by a quarter point to 2.5 per cent last month-- marking its first cut since March.
