Canada's major airports could be headed to privatization. Prime Minister Carney announced yesterday he'd like to see investors take over operations. at Toronto's Pearson, Montreal's Trudeau International, Vancouver International, and Calgary International. He said he'd like to shift spending on operating costs for smaller airports. Canada's first ever investment summit wrapped up yesterday in Toronto. Carney didn't waste any time flying out to Europe, where the Europeans made it clear what they want in a future relationship with the country. In her State of the Union address, Europeans Commission president said she would like to work with Carney on, quote, opening the door for Canada to be the first associate member of the European Union. Carney said to give his own speech to the European Parliament tomorrow. Mississauga City Council set to vote today on a one-year data center moratorium. The city is the latest in the province to consider a pause as it studies guardrails it should have in place. The proposed moratorium would apply to centers with energy demands over 10 megawatts. It comes as a major U.S. firm pursues A two-story data center in the city's Northwest Business Park district. Oakville became the first Ontario municipality to enact a pause after failed bids in Hamilton and Burlington. And there's a new Willie on the way. The town of South Bruce Peninsula announced a new albino groundhog as Canada's most famous weather prognosticator. The previous Wyerton Willie died in March of last year. Since then, town officials have been on the hunt. The groundhog is officially starting his new job at the 2027 Wyerton Willie Festival February 2nd. Light 92 sports.
